A BOP win will give the Chiefs region the full set of provincial trophies:
Ranfurly Shield
Meads Cup
Lochore Cup
FPC

Or if the NPC was a rep competition they could pick the next best hooker out of Wellington club rugby

Still feels wonderfully unreal. We're in the Final.

Not the Championship Final
Not the Division 2 Final
Not the Promotion-Relegation Final.

The Final.

Stoked!!!

This explains what happened:

I was already cheering for the Bay, now I want them to win even more.

Game was awesome. Went in and took my 8 year old daughter. Despite over dressing her had to leave at half time as she was frozen. Idiots at the stadium opened up the section that bore the brunt of the wind and rain.

Taking the 50m pen when you didn't even have the distance on a 30m conversion, then backing it up with a hilarious drop goal attempt and a ridiculous knock on.

heartened by the fact that the nation's capital are the all-time Grand Final chokers.

In the last 19 seasons this is Wellington's 8th final. They have won precisely 1. Finals in Wellington? a proud 0-2

Throw in the Hurricanes and their 1-2 record in Super rugby finals and it doesn't make pretty reading.

This is all new to the plucky underdogs from Tauranga, absolutely no emotional baggage.

Well done Wellington. Bit disappointed that bop did not set up for a droppy at end of normal time.
Shields and Kirifi won that match

You know your 7 is awesome when every other teams supporters hate him. Kirifi a lions legend

There aren't many players that put their body on the line like Kirifi. Two championships as a Lions captain, he'll always be a Wellington legend.

You know we've finally got our shit sorted when we've been able to finish the business. A winning % of 85% over the last three seasons is pretty good going. Hopefully we can keep the core of this group together for another couple seasons yet.

At least it didn't end on a boundary/try countback I suppose....

A most un-Wellington like win. Ugly as, showed real grit. BOP were more than worthy, could have easily won the game. It's a cliche but it's a shame there had to be a loser. Although I'm glad it was them... 😉
